Tryouts
Community based competitive baseball teams for players from ages 8-14
We hold tryouts in the Fall before each new season. Tryouts are designed to evaluate each athlete’s fundamental skills, athletic ability, and overall baseball IQ in a supportive, competitive environment. We are competitive baseball club, and encourage beginner players to start out in the Meridian Township Recreation league, before trying out for our club. You can sign up for that league here. Players do not need to tryout to play baseball for the Meridian Township Youth Sports Program.
During our tryouts, players will be assessed on throwing, fielding, hitting, base running, and overall athletic movement. Pitchers and catchers will may complete specialized evaluations. Coaches will be looking not only for skill, but also for effort, attitude, focus, and the ability to learn—qualities essential for competitive team play.
Selected players will participate in a structured season featuring winter training, regular practices, league play, and competitive weekend tournaments. Our goal is to develop young athletes who are eager to grow their skills, play at a higher level, and represent the program with pride, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
All players should come prepared to work hard, compete, and showcase your passion for the game.
